Portland Wedding Photographers

My name is Michael Long; I'm a Portland wedding photographer & I love my job. I've been doing photography full time for about five years. A couple of those years were spent doing fashion photography in a studio downtown. So, my style is immersed with off camera lighting which is not a common skill among wedding photographers. I use the best photography gear; I photoshop every image; & I deliver every image at 39 megapixels for you to make your own prints as well as a second copy of the same images at 1.5 megapixels for web use.

My favorite thing about wedding photography is creating gallery worthy images of beautiful weddings. If you're absorbed with designing the intricate details for your wedding or want stunning photos of you in the perfect wedding dress then I'd love to photograph your wedding & am the wedding photographer for you! I don't like documenting the day with images that anybody could take. If you need a photographer for a last second court wedding then I'm not your photographer. If you wouldn't want your photographs submitted to wedding magazines & don't have plans to make large prints then I'd suggest going with a different wedding photographer that specializes in what you want. However, if you do want gallery worthy images that you are able to make large prints of; I'm one of very few wedding photographers that delivers images above 30 megapixels.

I started wedding photography with a traditional style which now better resembles a photojournalist style. I still prefer creating the shots but I've learned to quickly setup the perfect photos without changing the moment. I love doing bridal shots where I can really create the image & take beautiful images of you throughout such a significant day. When looking through magazines most people don't realize the amount of hours that go into each photo. I realize for a wedding there isn't that time frame which is why I use a series of TTL flashes which instantly calculate all the settings through the camera. This drops my setup times for bridal and group shots down to several seconds while still giving ideal lighting.
